Resumen del proyectoLa evolución de las redes de comunicaciones fijas y móviles ha reactivado el problema del coste del último tramo de la red. Ejemplos de ello son el despliegue de las small cells en 4G y 5G o el uso de enlaces cableados para conectar múltiples puntos de acceso WiFi que mejoren la cobertura en interiores. Las comunicaciones por redes eléctricas (PLC, power line communications) de banda ancha han alcanzado una madurez considerable. Sin embargo, muchas de sus técnicas se han adoptado de sistemas radio y no explotan las particularidades del canal. Este proyecto ha logrado mejorar los siguientes aspectos de estos sistemas para usarlos como tecnología de último tramo:
